10/9/9 : Sophocles “Antigone” in original ancient Greek text.
All main characters as well as Chorus are interpreted by two performers –one actor, one musician– who, by exploring the Sophoclean poetry, try to reach fundamental simplicity, as to reveal the uninterrupted vibrations of ancient Greek poetry’s foremost inspiration: perpetual movement of fate, tragically shared. Choral songs are according to the original metrical-rhythmical sets of verses designed thoroughly by Sophocles himself, and it is exactly this point of research that gives to this performance its pre-eminence in genuinity. Antigone Implications

12/9/9 : Socratic Dialogue: CSR in a World Dominated by Plutocrats
On the 12th of September 2009, the closing day of the 22nd EBEN A.C. 2009 in Athens a Socratic Dialogue upon “CSR in a World Dominated by Plutocrats” will be performed at an open area for everyone to view.
In this session six participants engage in a Socratic Dialogue that examines the question: “What does CSR mean in a world where money buys power?” The goal of a Socratic dialogue is to guide a group towards a consensus on an issue or an understanding of the many different parts of an issue. The facilitator (Prof. Dr. Joanne Ciulla, Coston Family Chair in Leadership and Ethics, Jepson School of Leadership Studies, University of Richmond, USA) asks a series of questions to steer the discussants towards one or both of these objectives. Participants will adopt a variety of positions in regard to the question and engage in a lively but hopefully
constructive critical discussion on CSR and the plutocrats who run the world. Those wishing to participate in the discussion are invited to inform us by e-mail info@eben.gr. Limited number of participants (6) will be allowed to enter the Socratic Dialogue. Please apply as soon as possible.
12/9/9 : Farewell sightseeing visit The New Acropolis Museum
It will be one of the most important museums in the world, hosting masterpieces of the ancient Greek civilization and EBEN GR will give its guests the chance to visit it for free, as a Greek hospitality gesture, ending of the event.
The new Acropolis Museum inauguration will be during the 1st semester 2009 however temporarily its ground floor is already opened to the public.
The new Acropolis Museum represents a notably fine and acclaimed design and it’s construction is being accompanied by an equally rare degree of sensitivity and respect for the ancient structures brought to light in the preparation of its site.
